Friend Friday: Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish LoogLucia's WishChildren with brain tumours have been granted many wishes. Such as, have a trampoline, go on trips like this one that Lucia from Quebec made to Paris, France, and take care of the world!

Make-A-Wish gives children around the world the opportunity to forget their illness and act like the kids they are; away from doctors and hospital visits. It gives them and their families a chance to create long lasting memories.

Make-A-Wish Foundation started on April 29, 1980 when a 7-year old boy with a life-threatening illness had a wish come true. Since then, more than 6,200 wishes have been granted to children across Canada. Regional Chapters have been established from coast-to-coast in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, London, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax.

Why are they our Friend Friday?
Today is World Wish Day. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is one of many organizations that grants wishes to brain tumour children. We thank them, and that is why they are our Friend Friday.

  1. My son is 23 with a brain tumor in his fourth ventricle. We were told it’s a rare tumor for his age. Would love to speak to someone with the same tumor. Buffalo says it’s a medulablastoma. Sloan Kettering says it’s a combination of that and a ATRT
